Rising Suns is one of the most significant Indigenous exhibitions on view in Montréal this April. Through beadwork, painting, photography, sculpture, video, and installation, it makes clear that Indigenous art histories are central to this region, not peripheral to it. By bringing together artists from Rotinonhsión:ni, Wendat, W8banakiak, and Anishinaabeg worlds, the exhibition restores attention to the nations, relationships, and artistic continuities that have long shaped the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence region.
Date: Ongoing in April 2026
Location: McCord Stewart Museum, Montréal
